Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate bedside care and assist residents with activities of daily living
- Measure and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the care team
- Assist with safe transfers, mobility, and positioning to promote comfort and prevent falls
- Support feeding, hygiene, and toileting needs while preserving dignity
- Communicate clearly with nurses, families, and interdisciplinary staff about resident status
- Document care delivered in line with facility policies and regulatory standards
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
- Build meaningful connections — offer emotional support and engage residents in activities
Qualifications
- Valid CNA certification (state-appropriate) — Pennsylvania certification preferred or eligible
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
- Demonstrated comfort with hands-on patient care and lifting/transfer techniques
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited CNA program and current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in resident care fundamentals and ADLs
- Knowledge of infection control and basic safety protocols
- Ability to observe, document, and escalate changes in resident condition
- Good interpersonal skills — empathy, patience, and clear communication
- Basic charting and following care plans; willingness to learn facility EMR
