Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside care and assist residents with activities of daily living
• Measure and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the care team
• Assist with safe transfers, mobility, and positioning to promote comfort and prevent falls
• Support feeding, hygiene, and toileting needs while preserving dignity
• Communicate clearly with nurses, families, and interdisciplinary staff about resident status
• Document care delivered in line with facility policies and regulatory standards
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
• Build meaningful connections — offer emotional support and engage residents in activities

Qualifications

• Valid CNA certification (state-appropriate) — Pennsylvania certification preferred or eligible
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
• Demonstrated comfort with hands-on patient care and lifting/transfer techniques
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA program and current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in resident care fundamentals and ADLs
• Knowledge of infection control and basic safety protocols
• Ability to observe, document, and escalate changes in resident condition
• Good interpersonal skills — empathy, patience, and clear communication
• Basic charting and following care plans; willingness to learn facility EMR
