Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and patients with dignity and respect
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
• Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect patients and yourself
• Keep clear, timely documentation in the patient chart and communicate handoffs effectively
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe environment
• Work collaboratively with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver excellent care
• Offer emotional support and friendly companionship—small gestures make a big difference

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in Pennsylvania (state registry active)
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Current TB test or chest X-ray and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening per facility policy
• Strong communication skills and a patient-first attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in personal care, safe patient handling, and mobility assistance
• Knowledge of basic clinical observations and when to escalate concerns
• Familiarity with infection prevention and control best practices
• Good documentation practices and attention to detail
• Ability to work as part of a team and prioritize tasks in a busy setting
• Compassion, patience, and strong interpersonal skills with diverse populations
