Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living — bathing, dressing, feeding and mobility
- Take and record vital signs and observe patients for changes in condition
- Provide compassionate, respectful bedside care that preserves dignity
- Document care accurately and promptly in the patient record
- Support nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect patients and staff
- Communicate clearly with patients, families and staff to ensure excellent care
Qualifications
- Current/state-certified CNA credential (Pennsylvania certification preferred)
- Valid TB screening and immunizations per facility policy (proof as required)
- Pass background check and drug screen as part of onboarding
- Strong interpersonal skills and a caring bedside manner
- Previous experience in long-term care or acute care is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Completed CNA training program and active CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic patient care skills and ADL assistance
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Safe patient handling and mobility assistance
- Familiarity with infection control and PPE use
- Good documentation practices and basic computer/EHR skills
- Teamwork, communication and observational skills
