Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care and assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, reporting any changes to the nursing team
- Assist with safe patient transfers and mobility to prevent falls and injuries
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and observations
- Support a positive patient experience through respectful, patient-focused communication
- Help maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control policies
Qualifications
- Valid CNA certification required in the state of Pennsylvania
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) preferred or willingness to obtain
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass required health screenings
- Background check and drug screen clearance as required by facility
- Previous long-term care or acute care experience is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- State-certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic patient care procedures and infection control
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable with charting and basic documentation
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Empathy, patience, and a positive bedside manner
- Ability to follow care plans and direction from nursing staff
