Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities—bathing, dressing, grooming—with compassion and respect
- Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Monitor vital signs and report changes promptly to the nursing team
- Provide emotional support and friendly companionship to patients and families
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and observations
- Help maintain a clean, safe patient environment and adhere to infection control practices
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification and in good standing
- Valid state-required certifications and licensure for Pennsylvania
- Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass background checks
- Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Dependable, compassionate, and able to handle the physical demands of the role
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamental patient care skills and knowledge of ADLs
- Basic vital signs measurement and documentation
- Understanding of infection prevention and control procedures
- Comfortable with electronic charting or willingness to learn
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively
- Time management and the ability to prioritize patient needs
