Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered care and assist with daily living activities
- Safely assist with transfers, mobility, and positioning to promote comfort and independence
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
- Document care and observations in a clear, timely way to support continuity
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and coworkers
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary team members
- Support a positive, respectful environment that honors resident dignity
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in Connecticut (required)
- CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
- Completion of an approved CNA training program
- Demonstrated compassion, reliability, and strong teamwork skills
- Ability to follow care plans, chart accurately, and communicate changes to clinical staff
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an approved CNA program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamentals of resident care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Taking and interpreting vital signs
- Basic infection control and safety practices
- Safe resident transfer and mobility techniques
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Basic electronic or paper charting and documentation
