Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care and assist residents with activities of daily living
- Monitor, record, and report vital signs and any changes in patient condition
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and safe patient handling to promote independence
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control protocols
- Communicate effectively with nurses, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Support resident dignity, privacy, and emotional wellbeing through attentive care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification valid in Connecticut
- Completion of an approved CNA training program
- CPR/BLS certification required or must be obtained upon hire
- Ability to pass background check and required immunizations
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited CNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient care fundamentals and activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Infection control practices and proper PPE use
- Basic vital sign measurement and documentation
- Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Effective communication with patients, families, and clinical staff
- Reliable time management and ability to prioritize tasks
