Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living with compassion and dignity
- Perform vital signs, basic clinical tasks, and timely documentation
- Support nursing staff by following care plans and reporting changes
- Maintain a safe, clean, and respectful environment for residents
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and care team members
- Contribute to a positive team culture by being reliable and proactive
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification (required) - current in the state of Connecticut
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or as required by facility
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Up-to-date immunizations and TB testing as required by the facility
- Compassionate patient-focused attitude and strong interpersonal skills
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved CNA training program and current certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic clinical skills such as vital signs, infection control, and ADL assistance
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Observation skills to notice and report changes in resident condition
- Time management and reliable documentation practices
- Comfort working in long term care or skilled nursing environments
