Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes to the nursing team promptly
- Support safe patient transfers, positioning, and mobility with proper technique
- Maintain clear, timely documentation and communicate effectively with the care team
- Practice infection control and safety protocols to protect patients and staff
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and timely patient turnover tasks
- Build trusting relationships with patients and families through respectful, patient-centered care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (state certification expected — GA preferred)
- CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
- Previous experience in a long-term care or acute care setting is a plus
- Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Completed state-approved CNA program and certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic patient care and bedside manners that make patients feel safe
- Vital sign measurement and documentation accuracy
- Infection prevention, hand hygiene, and PPE use
- Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Time management and the ability to prioritize tasks during busy shifts
- Collaborative teamwork and clear communication with nursing staff
