Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate day-to-day care to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
- Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and toileting
- Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes promptly to nursing staff
- Support safe transfers and mobility with proper lifting and transfer techniques
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and patient status
- Follow infection control procedures and ensure a clean, safe environment
- Communicate clearly and kindly with patients, families, and the care team to coordinate care
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification in Pennsylvania (required)
- Current basic life support/CPR certification preferred
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings (TB test, immunizations) as per facility policy
- Strong interpersonal skills and a caring attitude toward patients and families
- Previous experience in a long-term care or similar setting is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited CNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic nursing care principles and safety practices
- Skillful with patient transfers, positioning, and mobility assistance
- Comfortable taking and recording vital signs accurately
- Good documentation skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively with nursing staff and other care team members
