Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and toileting with dignity and care
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report notable changes to nursing staff
• Provide safe and compassionate mobility assistance, transfers, and positioning
• Support feeding and nutritional needs while monitoring intake and preferences
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and communicate clearly during shift handoffs
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to licensed nursing staff promptly
• Follow infection control standards and facility policies to keep patients and coworkers safe
• Contribute to a positive patient experience by delivering friendly, person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification or state equivalent (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Compassionate patient approach with strong communication and teamwork skills
• Previous experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar setting is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in patient care fundamentals including ADLs and mobility assistance
• Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs and routine observations
• Knowledge of infection control practices and safe patient handling techniques
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a care team
• Basic familiarity with electronic health records or willingness to learn
• Reliable time management and ability to prioritize patient needs
