Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents — assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Perform timely and accurate vital signs assessments and report changes to the care team
- Support safe transfers and ambulation, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Document resident care and observations clearly and promptly in the chart/EHR
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
- Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful, person-centered communication
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (must be active and in good standing)
- Completion of an approved CNA training program
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass required health screenings
- Willingness to complete background checks and facility onboarding
- Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and ability to work as part of a team
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an approved CNA program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assisting with ADLs and personal care
- Comfortable taking and recording vital signs accurately
- Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling
- Strong observational skills to notice changes in resident condition
- Basic documentation and charting skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a patient-first mindset
