Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on patient care to support recovery and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes to the nursing team promptly
• Collaborate with RNs and interdisciplinary team members to implement care plans
• Maintain a safe, clean environment for patients and adhere to infection control protocols
• Communicate respectfully with patients and families, offering emotional support and education
• Document patient interactions and care accurately and professionally

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification (or equivalent) — Hawaii state certification preferred or eligibility to obtain
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working in an acute care setting with attention to safety and detail
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively on a busy unit
• Prior experience in acute care or similar medical-surgical settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of patient care standards and safety practices in acute care
• Skill in measuring and documenting vital signs and patient observations
• Ability to assist with patient transfers and use of mobility aids safely
• Familiarity with infection control, wound care basics, and ADL assistance
• Good time management and the ability to prioritize patient needs
