Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents — assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting)
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes promptly to the nursing team
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Document resident status and care given in the chart clearly and timely
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful, person-centered care
• Collaborate with the care team to maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
• Valid state authorization to practice in New Mexico (or ability to obtain promptly)
• Recent hands-on patient care experience preferred; long-term care experience a plus
• Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable with ADLs, transfers, and personal care tasks
• Able to take and record vital signs and recognize changes in condition
• Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
• Good documentation and charting practices
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
