Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside care and assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility)
• Monitor patients’ conditions overnight and promptly report changes to nursing staff
• Perform accurate documentation to maintain clear, up-to-date patient records
• Support safe patient transfers and use proper body mechanics to prevent injury
• Help maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection-control practices
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to ensure excellent continuity of care
• Respond calmly and efficiently to patient needs and overnight emergencies

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification (required)
• State authorization to work in Georgia or ability to obtain required state registration
• Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting helpful, especially overnight or med-surg exposure
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Ability to handle physically demanding tasks and stand for extended periods
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain

Education

• High school diploma or GED (preferred)
• Completed state-approved CNA training program and current certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient care fundamentals and safe transfer techniques
• Basic clinical observation and reporting skills
• Infection control and standard precautions
• Time management during extended overnight shifts
• Electronic or paper charting and accurate documentation
• Compassionate patient interaction and cultural sensitivity
