Certified Nursing Assistant - Long Term Care
Location: Smethport, PA
Start Date: 04-05-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: 8-hour shifts; exact start/end times and specific days to be confirmed with the facility (total hours per shift: 8)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $30 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care, including assistance with activities of daily living
- Assist nursing staff with safe transfers, ambulation, and positioning
- Monitor and record vital signs and report changes in patient condition promptly
- Support infection control and safety procedures to maintain a clean care environment
- Document care provided accurately and communicate effectively with the care team
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families to enhance quality of life
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (required)
- State CNA certification or ability to obtain Pennsylvania CNA credentials preferred
- Able to pass background check and drug screen as required by facility
- Reliable, compassionate, and team-oriented with strong patient focus
- Basic computer or documentation skills for charting care and observations
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential required
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamentals of patient care and activities of daily living
- Vital signs measurement and basic clinical observation
- Infection control practices and patient safety awareness
- Effective communication with patients, families, and clinical teams
- Time management and the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy setting
