Certified Nursing Assistant - Long Term Care
Location: Danbury, CT
Start Date: 04-25-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: 8-hour shift (specific start/end times and days to be confirmed with the facility)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $21 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Take and document vital signs and observe changes in resident condition
- Maintain a safe, clean, and respectful environment for residents
- Accurately document care and communicate changes to nursing staff
- Support residents' emotional well-being by engaging respectfully and attentively
- Collaborate with the nursing team to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in Connecticut (state registry required)
- Completion of an approved CNA training program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or obtained upon hire if required by facility
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
- Compassion, patience, and a commitment to resident-centered care
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an approved CNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on resident care and safe patient handling techniques
- Infection prevention and control best practices
- Accurate charting and documentation
- Basic clinical observations: vital signs and condition changes
- Effective communication with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
