Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Support safe mobility and transfers while promoting patient independence
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes promptly to the nursing team
• Maintain clear, timely documentation of patient care and observations
• Assist with meal service, feeding, and ensuring patient comfort throughout the shift
• Follow infection control protocols and contribute to a clean, safe environment
• Communicate with patients and families to build trust and deliver empathetic care
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to meet patient goals

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
• Active or eligible to obtain CNA certification for Pennsylvania
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility immunization requirements
• Comfortable with physical aspects of the role, including safe patient handling
• Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of patient safety and infection control practices
• Hands-on experience with ADLs, transfers, and mobility support
• Basic clinical skills such as taking vital signs and observing patient condition
• Familiarity with electronic charting or willingness to learn
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to provide compassionate care
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment
