Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily care and assistance with activities of daily living to promote patient comfort and dignity
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team
• Assist with safe transfers, mobility, and positioning to reduce fall risk and support recovery
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and communicate effectively with nurses and interdisciplinary staff
• Follow infection control practices and facility policies to ensure a safe care environment
• Support a positive patient experience through respectful interaction, empathy, and teamwork

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (CNA / T-CNA) — required
• Valid state registration/license to practice as a CNA in New Mexico
• Comfortable working 12-hour day shifts on the assigned schedule (Mon, Thu, Fri)
• Ability to pass facility-required health screenings and background checks
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Practical knowledge of patient hygiene, feeding, and ADL assistance
• Skill in taking and documenting vital signs accurately
• Understanding of basic infection control and safety procedures
• Ability to follow care plans and direction from registered nursing staff
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a calm, patient-centered approach
