Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and patient observations accurately
- Assist nursing team with treatments, transfers, and safe patient positioning
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
- Document care clearly and communicate changes in patient condition to nursing staff
- Support resident dignity, comfort, and emotional needs with kindness and respect
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential — required
- Active or eligible for CNA certification in New Mexico
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable working overnight 12-hour shifts (6:00 PM - 6:30 AM)
- Ability to pass background check and any facility-required screenings
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with a patient-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completion of an approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care and ADL assistance
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, measurements, and accurate charting
- Understanding of infection prevention and safety protocols
- Good interpersonal skills with residents, families, and clinical teams
- Time management and the ability to prioritize patient needs
- Familiarity with electronic or paper charting systems (facility training provided)
