Shift Type: Rotating shifts (Day / Evening / Night). Day 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM; Evening 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM; Night 11:15 PM - 7:15 AM. Specific days/schedule to be confirmed with employer (may include weekdays and weekends).

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, age-appropriate direct personal care to a caseload of patients
• Take and record vital signs, measure outputs, and recognize abnormal signs and symptoms
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting)
• Implement restorative care techniques, including assistive device application and range-of-motion activities
• Observe, document and accurately report changes in patient condition to the treatment team
• Follow infection control practices, universal precautions, and safe body mechanics
• Participate as part of the multidisciplinary team to assess and meet each patient’s needs
• Maintain clear, timely documentation and uphold patient rights and dignity

Qualifications

• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) required or equivalent experience
• At least 6 months of experience in a long-term care (LTC) facility required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Workers must be obtained within six months of employment
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand simple sentences in English and follow instructions precisely
• Demonstrated patience, tact, emotional stability and the ability to work with patients who may have challenging behaviors
• Previous Hawaii experience is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic nursing skills including taking vital signs and patient assessment
• Patient personal care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Infection control and universal precautions
• Body mechanics and restorative care techniques
• Basic medical and nursing terminology and accurate documentation/reporting
• Good observation, recall and oral/written communication skills
• Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work with diverse patient populations
