Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the cardiac cath lab and equipment for scheduled procedures
• Assist physicians during LHC, RHC, PCI and peripheral interventions with professionalism and focus
• Operate and support mechanical circulatory devices including Impella and IABP during cases
• Assist with temporary pacemaker and permanent pacemaker support as needed
• Monitor patient status and hemodynamics throughout procedures and communicate changes promptly
• Document procedures and patient information accurately in Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with RN and physician team members to ensure safe, efficient patient care
• Maintain and troubleshoot GE imaging equipment and ensure procedural supplies are ready

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience as indicated in the job details
• Hands-on experience with Impella and IABP is required
• Experience with ventilator management during procedures is required
• Familiarity with LHC, RHC, PCI, shockwave, vascular/peripheral interventions and EP helpful
• Current BLS required, ACLS preferred or as required by facility
• Relevant cath lab certifications or completion of an approved cardiac cath tech program preferred
• Active healthcare license or credentials as required by the facility and state

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of an accredited cardiac catheterization technologist program or relevant clinical training preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of cardiac catheterization procedures including LHC and RHC
• Experience with PCI techniques and vascular/peripheral interventions
• Comfortable assisting with mechanical support devices including Impella and IABP
• Competence with temporary pacemaker and permanent pacemaker assistance
• Familiarity with electrophysiology procedures is a plus
• Proficient with Meditech EMR and GE imaging equipment
• Excellent communication, teamwork and independent problem solving skills
