Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, helping with daily living activities
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to maintain dignity and comfort
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the nursing team
• Support safe transfers and ambulation, using proper body mechanics
• Document resident care timely and clearly in the charting system
• Communicate with residents and families in a respectful, friendly manner
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification (required) and placement on the state CNA registry
• Previous experience in long-term care or acute settings preferred but not required
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
• Comfortable assisting with physical tasks and using safe lifting practices
• Strong communication skills and a positive, team-first attitude
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program and state certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing care and resident assistance
• Skill in taking and documenting vital signs and observations
• Familiarity with infection control principles and PPE use
• Ability to follow care plans and direction from licensed nurses
• Good time management and documentation skills
• Compassionate bedside manner and effective interpersonal skills
