Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform transthoracic (TTE), transesophageal (TEE) and stress echocardiography exams following established protocols
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment and imaging software to ensure reliable diagnostics
• Acquire high-quality images and take accurate cardiac measurements to support physician diagnoses
• Collaborate with cardiologists to relay preliminary findings and ensure timely patient care
• Prepare and position patients with compassion, ensuring comfort and safety throughout exams
• Document procedures and maintain accurate patient records in the EMR (Meditech)
• Ensure equipment is cleaned, maintained, and reported promptly if issues arise
• Adhere to infection control, safety and regulatory guidelines at all times
• Participate in continuing education to maintain competency and certifications

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited cardiac ultrasound / echocardiography program (required)
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS via ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS via CCI) (required)
• Current BLS certification (required); ACLS and PALS also listed as required certifications
• NH state license or Compact license in-hand at time of application (facility will not pend license)
• 1+ years of clinical echocardiography experience preferred
• Experience with EMR (Meditech) and PACS systems preferred
• Familiarity with contrast echocardiography and advanced imaging techniques preferred
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and time-management skills

Education

• Completion of an accredited cardiac ultrasound / echocardiography program

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in echocardiography techniques (TTE, TEE, stress echo)
• Skilled in ultrasound imaging, image acquisition and cardiac measurement
• Comfortable operating ultrasound equipment and imaging software
• Solid understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology and pathology
• Patient preparation and safe positioning expertise
• Experience with EMR documentation and PACS workflow (Meditech)
• Infection control and equipment maintenance practices
• Ability to collaborate with cardiologists and multidisciplinary teams
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient-centered care
• Good time-management and communication skills
