Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and routine blood draws accurately and compassionately
• Administer injections and child immunizations within MA scope of practice
• Conduct lab tests and assist with specimen handling and documentation
• Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature and respiration
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and requisition supplies as needed
• Manage patient communication: take/return calls and provide instructions as directed
• Support maintenance of medical records including referrals and lab slips
• Assist patients to and from exam rooms and prepare them for exams and treatments
• Work collaboratively with the clinical team and support other nursing tasks as directed

Qualifications

• Current Medical Assistant certification required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Minimum 2 years in a formal Medical Assistant curriculum (required)
• At least 3 years of demonstrated experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical setting (required)
• LPN candidates will be considered
• Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality and professional discretion
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment with emotional stability
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude

Education

• At least 2 years in a formal Medical Assistant curriculum (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in phlebotomy, injections and routine lab testing
• Skilled at taking and interpreting vital signs
• Experience assisting physicians with exams and clinical procedures
• Competent in medical record documentation and referral processing
• Ability to triage patient calls and follow physician direction
• Supply management and maintaining exam room readiness
• Professional bedside manner and effective patient preparation
• Teamwork, flexibility and the ability to handle stressful situations calmly
