Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead unit operations during your assigned shift — oversee patient flow, bed management and capacity coordination
• Provide clinical care as a registered nurse with occasional small patient assignments (1–3 patients)
• Assign and adjust nursing assignments based on acuity, admissions and discharges
• Supervise and delegate to LPNs, RNs and LNAs while ensuring safe, high-quality care
• Mentor, precept and support new nurses to help them grow from novice to expert
• Monitor charting and ensure timely, accurate clinical documentation
• Follow up on lab/diagnostic results and coordinate referrals with pharmacy, lab and radiology
• Communicate effectively with nursing leadership and other departments to coordinate unit activities
• Act as house supervisor/resource during nights, weekends and holidays and liaise with on-call administrators and other hospitals for transfers
• Address in-the-moment staff concerns and provide feedback to nurse managers about employee performance

Qualifications

• Active New Hampshire RN license required at time of submission
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required (must be uploaded)
• 3–5 years of relevant clinical nursing experience required
• Charge RN experience highly preferred
• One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years
• Current skills checklist relevant to the position (within 1 year)

• Strong leadership and unit operations oversight
• Staff supervision, delegation and conflict resolution
• Clinical documentation accuracy and chart monitoring
• Patient care coordination including admissions, discharges and transfers
• Bed management and capacity coordination
• Ability to monitor and follow up on lab/diagnostic results
• Precepting and mentoring newer nurses
• Comfort coordinating with pharmacy, lab and radiology
