Roles & Responsibilities

• Operate CT scanners and power injector equipment to acquire high-quality cross-sectional diagnostic images
• Position patients accurately and apply appropriate technical factors to produce diagnostic-quality images
• Adjust imaging protocols as needed for individual patient circumstances and clinical questions
• Perform general radiography/X-ray exams as required to support patient care
• Critique completed procedures and maintain image quality standards, keeping repeat rates at or below national benchmarks
• Assist radiologists during invasive procedures such as biopsies and drainages when needed
• Obtain thorough patient histories, communicate procedures clearly, and practice positive patient identification
• Archive, retrieve and manage imaging data and support post-processing to deliver final diagnostic images

Qualifications

• ARRT registration (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) — required
• Advanced registry in Computed Tomography (CT) — required
• Two-year allied health degree (required)
• Minimum 2 years of current, full-time experience in both CT and general radiography/X-ray in a hospital or emergency department setting — required
• Comfortable communicating with patients and coordinating with radiologists and care teams

Education

• Two-year allied health degree (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Computed Tomography (CT) operation and protocol management
• General radiography/X-ray techniques and patient positioning
• Image quality evaluation and post-processing skills
• Power injector operation and CT scanner familiarity
• Ability to adjust protocols and troubleshoot technical issues
• Front desk and file room procedures and basic administrative workflow
• Experience assisting radiologists during invasive procedures
• Strong patient communication and history-taking skills
