Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to progressive care unit (PCU) patients
• Monitor and interpret patient telemetry and vital signs to detect changes quickly
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and according to protocol
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Document accurately and timely in the patient record to ensure continuity of care
• Support unit flow by prioritizing tasks and assisting colleagues during high-acuity periods

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY license or compact license where applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience (PCU/progressive care experience preferred)
• Current BLS required; ACLS strongly preferred or willing to obtain
• Demonstrated ability to manage telemetry and moderate-to-high acuity patients
• Strong clinical judgment, organized time management, and effective communication skills
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in cardiac monitoring and interpreting telemetry strips
• Skilled in IV medication administration, titration, and infusion pump management
• Solid assessment skills for identifying subtle changes in patient condition
• Comfortable with post-op, cardiac, and medically complex patient populations
• Team-oriented with strong communication and handoff skills
• Familiarity with electronic charting and accurate documentation practices
