Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team promptly
• Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, and mobility to promote patient independence
• Perform routine clinical tasks such as bathing, feeding, and toileting with dignity and respect
• Document care accurately and timely in the patient record to support continuity
• Work collaboratively with nurses, therapists, and support staff to deliver excellent patient-centered care
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential — required
• Completion of an approved CNA training program (documented)
• State-specific authorization to practice in New Mexico (as applicable)
• Previous experience in long-term care, rehabilitation, or acute care is a plus
• Basic CPR/BLS certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong communication skills, reliability, and a team-first approach

Education

• Completion of an accredited CNA training program
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on knowledge of ADLs, transfers, and basic patient care techniques
• Familiarity with infection control principles and proper PPE use
• Comfortable with timely, accurate documentation and charting
• Ability to follow care plans, take direction, and escalate concerns appropriately
• Respectful, patient-focused interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity
• Physical stamina for patient care tasks and safe lifting techniques
