Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive inpatient obstetric care overnight, including labor management, deliveries, postpartum care, and triage
- Manage gynecologic consults for acute issues during nocturnist shifts
- Perform urgent assessments and interventions for obstetric and gynecologic patients overnight
- Handle emergency obstetric situations with rapid response for maternal or fetal complications
- Collaborate closely with a team of OB/GYN physicians, APPs, and multispecialty colleagues to ensure safe, coordinated care
- Document all patient interactions, procedures, and consults in Epic EMR accurately and promptly
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and safety protocols in the OB unit
- Support training and mentoring of residents or APPs during nocturnist shifts and contribute to effective handoffs
Qualifications
- Board-certified OB/GYN (physician-level qualification required)
- Demonstrated experience in inpatient obstetric care, labor management, deliveries, postpartum care, and triage
- Comfort and competence managing emergency obstetric scenarios and urgent gynecologic consults
- Proficiency with Epic EMR for documentation and care coordination
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to multidisciplinary teamwork
- Visa sponsorship not available (No J-1 or H-1B visas accepted)
- Not accepting Locums candidates
Education
- MD or DO (physician degree)
- Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in labor management and delivery care
- Skilled in postpartum care and triage assessment
- Ability to manage gynecologic consults and urgent interventions
- Familiarity with emergency obstetric management and rapid response protocols
- Experience using Epic EMR for inpatient documentation
- Engagement in quality improvement practices and safety-minded care
- Effective handoffs, clear communication, and mentoring skills
