Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered care that preserves dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
• Perform safe transfers and mobility assistance following facility protocols
• Document care accurately and timely in resident records
• Support infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment
• Collaborate with the care team to create a positive, respectful atmosphere for residents and families

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification valid in New York
• Experience in long term care preferred but new grads with strong caregiving skills are welcome
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain promptly
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate attitude toward older adults
• Ability to safely perform resident transfers and physical tasks required for the role

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident support
• Basic infection control and safety procedures
• Comfortable with charting and documenting care accurately
• Good teamwork, time management, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow care plans and collaborate with licensed nursing staff
