Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, respectful personal care to residents, supporting dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Measure and record vital signs accurately and report changes to licensed nursing staff
• Maintain clean, safe resident environments and follow infection control protocols
• Document care and observations clearly and promptly in resident charts or electronic records
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Support mealtime assistance and encourage resident nutrition and hydration
• Participate in team huddles and follow care plans developed by nursing leadership

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential recognized in New York State
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous hands-on experience in long-term care, assisted living, or similar settings is a plus
• Ability to pass background check, health screenings, and any facility onboarding requirements
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance for scheduled shifts
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a resident-first mindset

Education

• High school diploma or GED (preferred)
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and personal care tasks
• Knowledge of basic infection control and safety practices
• Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
• Observation skills to notice and report resident condition changes
• Teamwork and collaboration with licensed nurses and care staff
• Basic charting and documentation skills; willingness to learn facility systems
• Time management and adaptability in a fast-paced care environment
