Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with daily living activities like bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor residents’ condition and promptly report changes to the nursing team to help ensure excellent outcomes
• Perform routine tasks such as taking vital signs, assisting with feeding, and supporting mobility safely
• Document care accurately and thoroughly in resident charts and care plans
• Support a positive, respectful environment by communicating clearly with residents, families, and team members
• Participate in infection control and safety practices to protect residents and coworkers
• Assist in meaningful activities that promote resident dignity, comfort, and engagement

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential in New York (required)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or assisted living is a plus
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings (TB, immunizations)
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered approach
• Reliable, professional, and committed to teamwork and high-quality resident care

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
• Infection control practices and safe patient handling techniques
• Comfortable with documentation and basic electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Strong interpersonal skills: empathy, patience, and clear communication
• Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs in a busy setting
