Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs and resident conditions accurately and promptly
• Support safe transfers and mobility, promoting independence whenever possible
• Document care and observations clearly in resident records
• Communicate changes in condition and care needs to the nursing team
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents
• Participate in team huddles and contribute to continuous improvement of care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
• Valid CNA credential in New York State or ability to obtain state certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• High school diploma or GED (see Education section)
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
• Reliable transportation and flexibility for per diem scheduling

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of resident care fundamentals and activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Basic vital signs measurement and documentation skills
• Infection control practices and safe patient handling
• Clear, compassionate communication with residents, families, and team members
• Comfortable using electronic charting or paper documentation systems
• Strong time management, teamwork, and attention to detail
