Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes in condition to nursing staff promptly
• Help create a comfortable, dignified environment for residents by responding to needs with respect and empathy
• Support safe transfers and positioning using appropriate body mechanics and assistive devices
• Document care delivered clearly and timely in resident records and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
• Participate in infection control practices and facility safety procedures to protect residents and staff

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in New York State or ability to obtain before start
• Completion of an approved state CNA training program
• Current CPR/BCLS certification preferred or required per facility policy
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
• Strong interpersonal skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in personal care, transfers, and safe resident handling
• Accurate vital sign measurement and basic clinical observation
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Good communication with residents, families, and clinical staff
• Awareness of infection prevention practices and patient safety principles
