Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide clinical support and mentorship to new employees, experienced staff, and students to elevate patient care
• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate orientation and ongoing clinical education activities
• Serve as a clinical practice resource—support staff with complex patient care, medication administration, and treatment planning
• Act as a liaison between bedside nursing and leadership, communicating concerns and improvements clearly
• Analyze patient data to identify practice gaps and develop interventions to close them
• Facilitate implementation of new protocols, equipment, and evidence-based practices with hands-on training
• Perform quality control audits and report findings to maintain compliance with regulatory standards
• Advocate for patients and families while promoting ethical standards and the organization’s mission

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) licensure for the State of Alaska
• Minimum of 5 years of acute care nursing experience preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) — American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) — American Heart Association
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) — American Heart Association
• Clinical Competency Assessment (SEARHC) and High Risk Competency (SEARHC) required
• Strong communication, leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively
• Flexibility to work varying schedules including weekends and holidays as needed

Education

• Nursing degree required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Comprehensive patient assessment and acute care nursing skills
• Safe medication administration and familiarity with medication safety principles
• Experience with Electronic Health Records and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Teaching methods, clinical education design, and precepting/mentoring skills
• Knowledge of evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and use critical thinking in complex situations
• Interpersonal and communication strategies to motivate and develop staff
