Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living — bathing, dressing, grooming and mobility
- Provide compassionate bedside care and ensure patient comfort and safety
- Measure and document vital signs and report changes to the nursing team
- Support safe transfers and positioning, following proper body mechanics
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary staff
- Follow infection control protocols and help keep the unit clean and orderly
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (state-required) — active and in good standing
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or the willingness to obtain promptly
- Compassionate patient focus with strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to perform physical aspects of the role (lifting, standing, assisting patients)
- Previous CNA experience is a plus — new CNAs who are eager to learn are encouraged to apply
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved CNA program and current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with activities of daily living assistance and basic patient care
- Ability to measure and accurately record vital signs
- Knowledge of infection control and safety practices
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly with patients and team members
- Basic charting and documentation skills
