Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care and diagnostic procedures for cardiopulmonary patients of all ages and acuity levels
• Manage mechanical ventilation and perform advanced ventilator adjustments for critically ill patients
• Deliver neonatal and pediatric respiratory support with age-appropriate techniques and compassion
• Perform cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing and interpret findings to inform patient care
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement respiratory care plans
• Respond to respiratory emergencies and contribute to rapid, effective bedside interventions
• Document treatments, ventilator settings and patient responses accurately and timely
• Adhere to infection control policies and facility protocols, including vaccination requirements

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) — required (CRT not considered)
• Valid Colorado Registered Respiratory Therapist license (DORA-RT) in good standing
• Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program as required for licensure
• Current AHA certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP — all required
• Flu vaccination required (no declinations)
• Proven critical care and ventilator experience
• Neonatal and pediatric respiratory care experience

Education

• Completion of an approved/acccredited Respiratory Therapy program (as required for state licensure)

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation and ventilator management
• Critical care respiratory skills and acute patient assessment
• Neonatal and pediatric respiratory techniques
• Cardiopulmonary diagnostics and interpretation
• Airway management and emergency response
• Strong communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
• Detail-oriented documentation and adherence to protocols
