Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality orthopedic and trauma surgical nursing care across pre-op, intra-op support, and post-op recovery
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient-focused plans
• Monitor and document patient status, surgical site outcomes, and post-operative progress accurately
• Perform clinical assessments and implement nursing interventions to promote safe recovery
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care, mobility, pain management, and discharge instructions
• Maintain required documentation, skills checklist, and certifications per facility and agency standards
• Support unit throughput by assisting with admissions, discharges, and timely transitions of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license - Nursys license verification required
• Minimum 2 years experience in orthopedic/trauma surgical specialty in a similar size setting
• Med-Surg background with demonstrated orthopedic-surgical or trauma-surgical skills
• Complete work history or resume with no gaps greater than 60 days
• Current certification cards and references as requested by credentialing
• Ability to load full demographic profile and provide a badge-appropriate photo

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong orthopedic and trauma surgical nursing skills and surgical nursing principles
• Experience managing post-operative care, wound management, and mobility plans
• Familiarity with Med-Surg workflows and acute care nursing priorities
• Comfortable with skills checklists, credentialing processes, and documentation standards
• Professional communication and teamwork in high-acuity surgical environments
