Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility
- Provide compassionate bedside care and emotional support to residents and families
- Monitor and record vital signs and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team
- Maintain accurate documentation and support care plans as directed by nursing staff
- Support safe patient transfers and fall prevention through proper body mechanics
- Adhere to infection control policies and keep the care environment clean and safe
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
Qualifications
- Valid LNA / Licensed Nursing Assistant certification (able to work in NH; VT certification a plus if applicable)
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
- Comfort working overnight shifts and providing hands-on patient care
- Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar settings preferred
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a state-approved nursing assistant training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient-centered care and interpersonal communication
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, charting
- Safe patient handling and fall-prevention techniques
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively on a busy unit
- Team-oriented mindset with a positive, adaptable attitude
