Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency care to a diverse patient population in a 20-bed ED and fast track setting
• Manage up to the expected daily patient volume (around 30 patients/day) with excellent judgment and efficiency
• Document care thoroughly and accurately using Cerner to ensure continuity and quality
• Staff and manage the fast track as needed, delivering timely care for lower-acuity patients
• Coordinate with hospitalists for admissions and with other facilities for transfers when required
• Adhere to McLaren Health Care policies, travel & expense guidelines, and site-specific procedures
• Participate in the float pool by accepting assigned PRN shifts delivered via email and maintain responsiveness

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree (or equivalent)
• Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine preferred
• Active Michigan medical license or eligibility to obtain state licensure in a timely manner
• Current DEA registration or ability to obtain prior to start
• Comfortable and experienced with common ED procedures (see practice description for specifics)
• Experience documenting in Cerner strongly preferred
• Willingness to use Doctime for clocking in/out and to follow site orientation requirements

Education

• MD or DO (required)
• Residency training in Emergency Medicine (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in Emergency Medicine clinical evaluation and acute stabilization
• Experience with Cerner EHR documentation and order entry
• Familiarity with fast track workflows and lower-acuity emergency care
• Comfortable performing common ED procedures per the practice description
• Ability to work independently in a free-standing ED with strong communication skills
• Time management and triage skills to handle steady patient flow efficiently
