Shift Type: 8 or 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM or 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM; also mid shift Monday-Thursday 10:30 AM - 9:00 PM; rotating weekend call every 5 weeks, plus 1-4 hour call after each shift weekly

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $50 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile field for a wide variety of surgical procedures including ortho, neuro, robotics, GYN, eyes, ENT, and general surgery
• Anticipate surgeon's needs and pass instruments efficiently during complex cases
• Assist with patient positioning, draping, and wound closure as needed
• Ensure all equipment and supplies are ready and functioning before surgery begins
• Collaborate with the surgical team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care
• Participate in on-call rotations to support emergency surgeries after hours

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of recent experience as a Surgical Tech in an acute care setting
• BLS certification required (AHA)
• CST certification preferred but not required
• Must have strong experience in neuro and ortho surgeries
• Robotics experience (Da Vinci) is a must
• Ability to scrub for a variety of cases including general, GYN, GU, plastics, eye, ENT, thoracic, and endoscopy
• Comfortable working in a Level 1 Trauma center

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in ortho procedures (ORIF, total joints, scopes)
• Proficiency in neuro surgeries (crani, laminectomy, shunts)
• Skilled in robotics (Da Vinci), Stealth, O-arm, and Holmium lasers
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system
• Knowledge of aseptic technique and sterile processing
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
