Location: Bismarck, North Dakota

End Date: 09-28-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM with 6:00 AM start for open heart case prep, plus weeknight call 3-4 times per week from 3:15 PM - 6:45 AM and every other to every third weekend call from Friday 3:15 PM to Monday 6:45 AM

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

First scrub on open heart procedures including CABG, valves, and aneurysms
Assist with thoracic and vascular cases such as thoracotomies, VATS, and AAA repairs
Cross-train into general OR specialties when CV volumes are low to maintain skills
Float to the floor as a 1:1 sitter to support patient care during low case volume periods
Prepare for open heart cases starting at 6:00 AM when scheduled
Respond to call within 15 minutes to ensure timely patient care

Qualifications

Current CST or NCCT certification required
BLS certification required
ND UAP registration required
Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience with open hearts, CABG, and valve procedures
Ability to first scrub independently on complex cardiac cases
Willingness to cross-train and float as needed

Knowledge & Skills

Strong CVOR experience with open heart procedures
Proficiency in first scrub role for CABG, valves, and thoracic cases
Familiarity with ECMO, Impella 5.5, and robotic-assisted procedures
Flexibility to adapt to general OR cases when needed
Excellent communication and teamwork in a family-oriented environment
