Location: Chicago, Illinois

End Date: 05-24-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Days, 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM, with rotating weekends, holidays, and on-call. Flexible shift options: 4x10 or 3x12.

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $28 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain the sterile field during surgical procedures
Assist surgeons and surgical team with instruments and supplies
Ensure all equipment is sterilized and functioning properly
Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments efficiently
Manage surgical counts and specimen handling
Support a fast-paced OR with open heart, orthopedic, and general surgeries

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of OR scrub tech experience required
EPIC experience a must to hit the ground running
Current BLS certification from AHA or equivalent
Willingness to take call and work flexible hours
Completion of all mandatory training and health requirements

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of sterile technique and infection control
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume OR
Familiarity with a wide range of surgical specialties including cardiac and orthopedics
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Proficient in EPIC electronic health records
