Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders to empower patients in communication and safe swallowing
Complete thorough patient documentation including evaluations, plans of care, progress reports, and discharges
Collaborate with healthcare providers for patient-centered treatment plans
Educate staff like nurses, physicians, and dietitians on evaluation results and research-based recommendations
Create engaging in-service presentations and educational opportunities
Contact insurance companies to advocate for patient benefits
Prepare treatment sessions and provide reminder calls to ensure patient success
Maintain clean treatment spaces and assist patients and families in navigating the hospital

Qualifications

Master's degree in speech pathology from an accredited program
Current Wisconsin Speech-Language Pathologist license
Valid driver's license
BLS certification
1+ years of related work experience preferred, hospital setting a plus

Education

Master's degree in speech pathology from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

Intermediate computer proficiency for seamless documentation
Strong assessment and planning skills
Quantitative and analytical competency
Excellent interpersonal communication
Self-starter with sharp problem-solving abilities
Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
