Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing evaluations for geriatric patients
• Develop individualized treatment plans and measurable goals to improve patient outcomes
• Deliver evidence-based therapy and adjust interventions based on progress and interdisciplinary input
• Document clinical findings and progress clearly and timely in the facility EMR
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy team members, and families to support safe discharge planning
• Provide education and training to caregivers and staff on strategies to support communication and swallowing

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required
• State of Georgia SLP license or ability to obtain licensure in Georgia
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or eligibility to pursue certification
• Experience working with geriatric populations and dysphagia management preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification as required by facility
• Willingness to complete facility onboarding, background checks, and immunization requirements

Education

• Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment skills across speech, language, cognition, and swallowing
• Proficiency in developing goal-driven, evidence-based treatment plans
• Experience with dysphagia evaluation and management, including diet recommendations
• Excellent interdisciplinary communication and caregiver education skills
• Comfortable with clinical documentation and basic EMR navigation
• Ability to adapt therapy to varied cognitive levels and functional needs
