Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' communication and swallowing abilities using evidence-based assessment tools
• Develop individualized treatment plans targeting speech, language, cognition, and dysphagia
• Provide skilled therapeutic interventions and monitor progress toward functional goals
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, families, and caregivers to ensure cohesive care
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families on strategies and carryover activities to maximize outcomes
• Participate in care conferences and contribute to discharge planning
• Mentor and support rehab team members to foster a high-quality clinical environment

Qualifications

• Current state license as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Massachusetts or eligibility to obtain
• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent graduate degree)
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred (or working toward certification)
• Experience evaluating and treating adult rehab populations, including dysphagia management
• Strong documentation skills and comfort with electronic health records
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in an interdisciplinary team

Education

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent graduate degree required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in dysphagia assessment and management
• Proficiency with speech, language, and cognitive-communication treatment approaches
• Familiarity with AAC strategies and assistive communication when needed
• Solid clinical reasoning and outcomes-driven treatment planning
• Comfortable collaborating across disciplines and educating caregivers
• Reliable clinical documentation and time-management skills
