Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality postpartum and mother-baby nursing care to patients on a 12-bed unit
• Perform and document vital assessments and Meditech charting accurately and timely
• Administer and monitor blood/iron transfusions and perform bladder scans as required
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to manage patient care and maintain a 1:6 patient ratio
• Educate new mothers and families on postpartum care, infant care, and discharge planning
• Float to Labor and Delivery as needed, supporting team needs with flexibility and professionalism

Qualifications

• Active RN experience with at least 1 year of relevant clinical experience (postpartum/mother-baby or OB/GYN preferred)
• Current ACLS, BLS and NRP certifications (listed as must-haves for this role)
• Previous postpartum/mother-baby and labor & delivery experience preferred
• Comfort using Meditech (EMR experience is a plus)
• Warm, positive, friendly and caring bedside manner to fit the unit culture
• RNC-OB or RNC-MNN credentials are a plus but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Postpartum and mother-baby clinical skills and newborn care basics
• Labor & Delivery familiarity for floating support
• Meditech electronic charting and documentation
• Ability to manage blood/iron transfusions and bladder scanning
• Strong patient education and family-centered care approach
• Time management and teamwork in a fast-paced 12-bed unit with 1:6 ratios
