Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert perioperative nursing care in the cardiovascular operating room, ensuring patient safety and high-quality outcomes
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, CSTs and the surgical team to anticipate needs during procedures
• Maintain sterile technique and surgical asepsis, including accurate instrument and sponge counts
• Monitor patient status intraoperatively and communicate critical changes clearly and promptly
• Document perioperative care accurately in the patient record and follow unit policies and protocols
• Support unit flow by preparing rooms, equipment, and supplies for a variety of cases in a fast-paced OR environment

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (required)
• PeriOp 101 completion (must have) with ortho and trauma experience per unit requirements
• Minimum 1 year of relevant perioperative or OR experience (as listed in the posting)
• Comfortable working day and night shifts and able to cover weekends/on-call as needed
• Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability in a busy surgical setting

• Cardiovascular OR and operating room workflows
• Perioperative nursing principles and sterile technique
• Patient monitoring and intraoperative assessment
• Collaboration with multidisciplinary surgical teams
• Familiarity with OR documentation and unit policies
