Roles & Responsibilities

• Train and support all levels of EHR and ancillary clinical systems users using classroom, one-on-one, and remote methods
• Configure and optimize clinical content and decision support tools in collaboration with medical staff
• Maintain and update application content such as labs, radiology tests, medications, immunizations, and codes
• Triage user issues and coordinate resolution with Help Desk, IT, clinical subject matter experts, and vendors
• Continuously assess clinical workflows and recommend process improvements to align with best practices
• Develop engaging training materials and deliver effective education to clinicians and support staff
• Travel to consortium sites as needed and provide on-site implementation and go-live support

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (Alaska preferred; direct hires must have applied for an Alaska license before start date)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a medical setting, clinical experience preferred
• At least 2 years of experience working with clinical information systems
• Minimum 1 year experience with computer technology tasks such as programming, installation, report generation, or hardware
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Clinical informatics training and teaching experience are preferred
• Comfort working independently across multiple sites and collaborating with IT and vendors

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• BSN preferred
• Advanced degree(s) may substitute for required experience on a year-by-year basis

Knowledge & Skills

• Deep understanding of clinical information systems, EHRs, and clinical decision support
• Familiarity with HL7 messaging and integration concepts
• Knowledge of scheduling, radiology, laboratory, and document scanning systems
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Process improvement mindset with solid problem solving and prioritization abilities
• Ability to develop training materials and deliver effective education across modalities
• Experience coordinating with IT, network, and clinical teams to resolve issues
